When insects look at the Magic Optron sheet, it appears dark when viewed from outside the building, and bright when viewed from the inside.

The sheet, developed based on research into the habits of flying insects and the characteristics of light and color, creates light invisible to insects, thereby suppressing intrusion from the outside.

In the event that insects do enter, they are attracted to the light reflected by the yellow color on the inside and gathered around the entrance, suppressing intrusion into the manufacturing line at the back of the building.

Principle of Magic Optron Sheet, Attracting Intruding Insects to the Entrance

  • The surface is difficult for insects to gather on even during the day (not a yellow color that attracts insects)
  • New Optron color (appears green, blue, or gray to some people)
  • Insect control effect (80%) remains the same, but transparency is improved
  • The sheet color inside the building (back side) is yellow to attract insects to the entrance

What Colors are Insects Attracted to?

At the Chiba Experimental Forest of the University of Tokyo, a test was conducted to confirm which colors insects are attracted to by setting up seven colors of cloth in the field and capturing insects.
Many insects gathered on yellow and orange, and few on blue and green.
Although the attraction rate varies depending on the insect fauna, it is considered sufficiently effective for insect control measures.

Foreign Object Contamination is a Significant Loss of Image

The biggest cause of complaints about foreign object contamination in factory-produced products is due to insects, and 80% of these are said to be insects attracted to light.
Magic Optron happygate Monban uses an original sheet to control light without using insecticides, suppressing insect intrusion.

Anti-Rat Lower End Sheet (Common to All Series)

  • Ten pieces of solid feed for rats (CE-II manufactured by Nippon Clea Co., Ltd.) were placed in the anti-rat lower end sheet and the conventional lower end sheet, folded in two, fixed around the perimeter with a stapler, and an experiment was conducted to prevent the material inside from being taken out unless a hole was made.
  • Each was placed in a cage containing brown rats for a maximum of 7 days, and the test was terminated when either one of them had a hole made.
  • The brown rats under test were kept in a state of starvation, and only on the second day were they given approximately 10g of solid feed for rats that they normally eat, and were allowed to drink water freely.
  • As a result of testing with 3 brown rats, one rat gnawed on the conventional product sheet on the 2nd day and approximately 4 cm of gnawing damage was confirmed, and the other 2 rats similarly confirmed gnawing damage only on the conventional sheet on the 6th day.

Insect Control Test Results

In our own insect control effectiveness test, we tested the insect control effectiveness against hue and transparency, in addition to attraction to light at night.
Suppresses the attraction of insects outdoors and maintains a hygienic environment indoors.

Lighting equipment with each sheet attached and lighting equipment without the sheets attached were placed outdoors, and flying insects attracted to each lighting equipment were captured with adhesive sheets attached to the left and right of the lighting equipment.
The attraction inhibition rate was determined from the number of captures, and the insect control effect between each sheet was compared.
*The test method was presented at the Japanese Society of Environmental Entomology and Zoology.
